She had never seen anyone so big. Jondalar, a Zelandoni, is a foreigner among the Mamutoi, and Ayla’s acceptance in their society makes him feel separated from her. I’m sorry, but if you can invent new sex positions you should be able to tell your partner how you feel! After a while, they both seem really petty, manipulative, and self pitying.

Just like the previous 2 novels this one is a uniquely dense read and wonderful experience.
Once again Jean M. The love story in this one starts out strong, and by the time you get half way through, you are so sick of the misunderstandings and hurt feelings that you feel no one could be that stupid about love.

Kind of like Harry Turtledove. Another hunhers I didn’t like is that this book and the previous one had the most boring repetitive sex scenes.
She is also joined by her love, Jondalar. I guess now that she’s with her kind of people, Auel just can’t make it interesting.
